Erik Tierolf (born on September 8, 1963, in Renesse) is a Dutch painter. He graduated in 1987 from the AKI Art & Design Enschede ArtEZ (formerly ‘Academy of Art and Industry’) in Enschede. Since 1991, he has been creating realistic artworks, mainly oil paintings on canvas. Tierolf takes the viewer to a world that resembles ours but is different. His works blend reality and fantasy in a believable way. He has lived and worked in Bergen, North Holland, since 1997, where the sea and water serve as an inspiration for his creations.
